Summer Adventures
Our summer adventures are focused on opportunities for students to serve alongside on another in community and discover more about their faith by “doing”. We have our annual trip to Palmer Home as well as a foreign mission trip and other local opportunities.
Ministries We Serve
At the core of our ministry is a desire to live out our faith and deliver the good news of Jesus Christ to a broken world. Here is a short description of the ministries we serve throughout the year:
- Brookdale-Sterling House (Alterra) - Assisted Living Home
Once a semester, each small group takes a break from the typical routine to love on our elderly friends in the assisted living home by playing Bingo with them and enjoying life with them. It is a great opportunity for us to love and serve our neighbors well with the love of Christ. It is a sweet time!
- SeaMark Ranch: www.seamarkranch.com
We like to call SeaMark Ranch our local Palmer Home because it to is a children's home. Once a semester, we take a Saturday to go serve and do work projects at the SeaMark Ranch. We also enjoy taking time to go love on the orphans at the SeaMark Ranch. We pray that through our service and love, the children at the SeaMark Ranch might feel the love of Christ. It is another great opportunity for us to serve the local community.
- Samaritans Purse: www.samaritanspurse.org
Samaritan's Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan's Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God's love through His Son, Jesus Christ.
- Christ Church Food Pantry
The mission of Christ Church Community Food Pantry is to collect food and distribute to those in need in our church and in our community.
- Boselli Foundation: Simon-Johnson Community Center, Russel Cook Jr. Community Center, www.bosellifoundation.com
Helping children become champions at home, at school and in the community describes the commitment of The Boselli Foundation. Tony and Angi strive to provide opportunities for all children, especially those with limited financial resources, to reach their full potential. The goals of the Boselli Foundation are to provide activities and programs that focus on character-building, academics and community involvement to enhance the lives of youth in the Jacksonville area.
