About Youth Ministry at Christ Church Mandarin
Discipleship is the core of youth ministry at Christ Church. We believe there is no more important task than passing down the essentials of faith to the rising generation of the church. To that end, the focus of our ministry is providing encouragement and support to parents as well as opportunities for youth to understand, grow in and live out their own faith. It is our hope, prayer and intent that as students grasp their role in the cosmic story God is unfolding they will reach out to their peers in the city, nation and world with the good news of Jesus Christ.
Small groups form the core of our youth ministry at Christ Church Mandarin. A team of dedicated adult volunteers meet with their groups on a weekly basis during the school year. During small group meetings students are encouraged to develop community with their peers, discuss the application of Biblical truth to their lives and spend time prayer for each other. Groups are divided by gender and age with two volunteer leaders shepherding each group. Parents are encouraged to get to know their children’s small group leaders and partner with them as together we pass down our faith to the next generation.
All small groups are currently on break for the summer. Stay tuned for fall information coming soon.
School of Discipleship
We offer two Sunday school classes, one for middle school students and another for high school students, during the school year. The classes are lead by adult teachers and cover various topics related to living out our faith.
Large Group Events
A number of times throughout the school year we will have special large group events for youth to gather together and enjoy fun, food and fellowship with friends.
Youth from both congregations gather once a month in the Mandarin Community/Youth Center for a time of corporate praise, prayer and worship led by our youth worship team. Youth are encouraged to develop their musical, vocal and technical gifts through this ministry.
Summer Opportunities & Missions
During the summer we take a break from our normal small groups and gather together with the youth from our sister congregations for a weekly summer Bible study. Another highlight of the summer schedule is a youth summer camp. We also serve with the children’s ministry during Backyard Bible Clubs/VBS.
We always welcome folks who desire to help our ministry by providing food, transportation or chaperoning various events. If you would like to help please contact us! Please note that we require background checks for volunteers in certain roles.
